I think I should have stayed in bed!
Ow ow ow! That blasted wall just tried to take off my nose. Note, no sleep walking down the halls, it doesn’t end well. The walls bite and don’t make great comfortable wake up calls. Just saying!
So today was another day of fun. And no, I’m not being sarcastic, lol. I really do mean that, 🙂 however, for me it was definitely a rough or maybe I should say painful start? Stupid wall! My emotions were right at the edges from the start of the day, so I knew at some point I was going to crash and burn and all that.
Oh, correction, the other instructor in our group ios Beth and not Betty, ooopsy!
Anyways, back to the story. I did get to meet Christa and her lovely boy Jovi today. She sat with us crazy people at table 4 and survived, lol.
Morning sessions amusement!
Hey May, watch the stairs!
Erm, yeah, seriously think I should have stayed in bed. Went to get off the bus at the training center and the stairs tried to take me out or maybe assist me down the stairs the quick way? What do you think? Either way, yes, definitely time I should probably wake up.
So, some things have change at Leader since I was here to get Wren and one of those things was the command leave it Now they use straight instead. Well, when I heard this it made absolutely no sense to me why they would change it. But how Stephanie explained it I got it later, but that was after our amusing walk.
Stephanie, ready, you’re going first today.
Me, awesome. Grabs harness and off we go. This time when we leave the building we go left instead of right. I let Stephanie Juno know that today I was having a pretty tough time of it this morning. Erm, I don’t think I should have done that. We get to the curb, no problem. Take a left turn, no problem.
Stephanie Juno, oooooo squirel!
Me, well shit! No, leave i. . hup. . .erm, what the heck is the command?
Stephanie, starts laughing her ass off. May, I’m going to pee!
Me, oh dear, hold it!
Stephanie, laughs some more and we proceed down the sidewalk.
Me, ha, my dog is no longer distracted. My brain fart caused my dog to get distracted from her distraction. How cool is that? Um, however, not sure if she ever made it to the bathroom!
After I nearly made my Juno have an accident I went on a mobility walk while Virginia had her turn. The mobility walks are something new as well for those old time Leader grads like myself. Also, the booths are all gone. It took me by surprise when I went to look for them. Booths begone! poof!
Anyways, I used the mobility walk for a time to try and settle my nerves and check out how sound scape worked with my meta glasses. I figured I’d try it out before I attempt to use them with this particular app when I have puppy. Uh, good thing I did too. The moment it starting talking and telling me where things were it through me off. I wasn’t expecting it to talk to me dependant on the location of whatever it was it was telling me about. That took a few moments to get use too. After I got use to that I could focus on what it was telling me and walk at the same time without killing myself. Well, never mind I played it safe and cheated. I went sighted guide with the orientation person so I couldn’t kill myself this time, lol.
The afternoon session we got to play with doggies, yay! I got to hang out with Stephanie’s dog Henny. He is sooooo cute.
Amusing moment 2!
First thing Henny does when he enters my room is he decided that my dogs new mat was all for him and he took it for himself, lol. So guess what, my puppy is going to smell another dog on it’s bed! Oopsy, sorry new puppy. You can take it up with Henny later.
So, Mr. Henny is walking around the room and checking things out while Stephanie hands me the working collar to put on him.
Holy cow this thing is older than dirt! Where are the holes hiding on this thing?
Ah well, onward!
Me, Henny, come. nothing Henny? Still nothing. One more time, Henny, come. Finally, I reach over and there’s Henny! The little bugger is sitting there staring at me, like hi, finally you noticed I’m right here. What the heck do you keep calling me for?
Me, oh Henny, you are a little sneak, just like your handler.
Henny, just wags his tail.
Me, oh no, Henny does this mean since she trained my dog that it’s going to be sneaky just like you and her?
Stephanie, maybe!
Me, oh no, that means most likely yes.
After I got the collar on and the gentle leader to which Henny absolutely does not like we went off for our little heeling walk in the hall.
The first part of the walk was with the gentle leader on. Henny is an awesome dog for heeling. He didn’t pull or anything. He just stayed right by my side. In the beginning, lol. It was even cool that when Stephanie had us stop to take off the gentle leader it was right in front of Christa’s room where she was playing with her dog inside. You could hear the tags going and the ball bouncing and everything. Henny didn’t pay attention to that at all. He kept his eyes on me. Ha, that’s because I had the good treats, go Fromms!
After we took off the gentle leader we heeled a little more and that’s when Stephanie tried to get Henny to actually attempt to pull. He did, just once, but after I gave him nice tasty treats, I was more important again, lol.
After my playtime with Henny I was done for the day in more ways than one. That’s when the emotions and everything came out to play and I decided that I would take the rest of the night to myself. I did go to dinner, but that was it. I figured I’d get the crying and another Wren moment out and hopefully be just fine for new dog time in the morning.
So, my room is all ready for my new friend.
Where’s my dog? Lets go, lets go, lets go!
ITS ALMOST SHOW TIME!! Don’t forget pictures.
