LD Training14 Puppy Raiser Day

Saturday, September 6, 2025

Good day everyone and welcome to Saturday. This entry is about the special day that everyone looks forward too. Meeting the puppy raiser or learning about their puppy.

Well, this time around I’m faced with another new adventure. Monte is a prison raised puppy. Meaning, I don’t get to meet the ones that raised my boy. In fact, much to my dismay and sadness, I don’t know anything about my boy.

What things does he like?
How did the name Monte get picked and with this particular spelling?
What toys does he like?
Who taught him how to shake a paw?

For me, what I would like to know, how was the ones that raised Monte chose? There were 3 people that raised Monte. Which of them got to name him? Did they each put in an idea? Are they all friends of sorts?

I envy those that get puppy raised puppies in the one way of they get information about their puppies right away. Other than that, my boy is still just as special and the 3 people that raised him did one hell of a job. so this next bit is for them in case they ever get to read it.

Dear raisers of Monte.
I want to thank you for the time and effort and energy you put into caring for and teaching this very special boy I have here. It took a little while to win his affection from his trainer, but he is a loyal and very careful puppy. He works very hard and loves to please. I have also given him the nickname of Thumper due to the fact that whenever he sees someone he is sooooooo happy to see his tail goes super fast and I’m told he has a very happy expression. Thank you for showing Monte the difference between work time and time to play or helping him to see that there is a difference. Thank you for raising this special boy that has won my heart!

From the M&M team, May and Monte

Now for prison raised puppies we are allowed to contact them if they also wish it. This also depends on if the ones that raise him are still in prison by the time the puppy is placed. If they can’t be found we lose out on learning some things about our partner. The difference is we must go through the school to do so for safety. I am perfectly cool with this. I think the only thing that I would ask for the school and prisons to think about is to have something ready about the puppy to give the person that receives them. those of us that get prisoned raised puppies don’t get to know anything about our puppy until who knows when unlike our counter parts that can get that information right away if all parties agree.

Once again to those that raised my boy, thank you!

I look forward to your comment. Please keep it respectful!
