Frustrating first week of class

*sighs*

Nothing ever goes as planned. If something looks too good to be true, it is. My first week of classes was a headache and frustrating and made me want to pull my hair out and walk away already. The goal since GAS Community Studies was a last minute change plans were made to pick classes where I would not have to deal with the CSD department and print books, but I think someone missed that memo, lol.

First I found out that electives are not a part of the vital source program that started in the fall term. So that meant Child Development is a class I have to try and figure out what the hell I’m going to do. Spent 102 on the text book, *ouch* and I don’t even know if I’ll be able to read it and won’t get the money back if it’s not.

Then came my Ethics class. Someone along the way decided, nope this book will be print only. *screams* why me!!! But I got lucky with this one and I found an accessible version. I just had to spend 24 bucks to do so. Now that part is not fir to me since this course is paid for through the tuition. I’m going to write a separate post about the first class.

Next comes Communications II. *screams and curses* more bad news. This book this term is also not part of vital source. Sadly, I have not been able to find an accessible version of this book and to make it worse there’s a bloody quiz every week. I’m afraid to find out what this book will cost me in the end if I find one that is.

Finally there’s Addictions and lucky no damn text book. There’s other issues, sighted issues with this class, but most likely easier to work with and try and figure out than yelling about books and seriously falling behind. Also my instructor and a few of my classmates in this class are willing to help in any way possible. I already knew that would be the case with my instructor since I had her before, but it’s nice knowing I may have extra help of some kind.

Now, unlike before when I fell into this problem with Algonquin, I actually like the instructors, the way they teach and at least 2 of the class groups I’m with are lively. Although I am only taking these classes to get me back into the school frame of mine I actually want to keep them. Well, Communication II not as much as the others, but still. They caught my interest and I’d hate to drop any of them after all. So, lets see with the next week brings. Hopefully better news from the first.
